35-45* Wet, rainy, cool weather; needed a good warm up which most got, only the OPEN runners didn’t get enough warm up in.  In cool weather you want to be steaming when you take off your last layer of sweats.  Bad warmup means tight feeling second half of the race, heard many complaints in this way, that’s whyJ.  Despite the less than perfect warmup, some excellent racing y’all …so proud on our EAGLES and how they represented us in IL!!   Dalton and Erin won their races taking both trophies!  Tom Boeve beat Coach Hein’s ‘DAD record’ by 2 seconds!!!  Erin Kirchhoff, matriarch of that amazing K-Klan, beat her own ‘MOMS record’ from last year by almost a whopping 2 minutes!

Since this is the only chance many of our HS athletes get a chance to race a 3k, many had all time PR’s; but you will have to go to last year’s results on the web to get that info.  Besides winning, Dalton broke the sophomore record for 3k. Alex made it under the 11:00min mark which is sub 6min pace.  It was nice to have alumni Ali join us, and great Job to rookie moms, Christy and Michelle too!  J

Our 2k (1.25miles) running little ladies earned 5 out of the 15 prizes!  Pretty good since none of them actually train outside of normal childhood playing, walking, skipping, running, biking, etc!  Oh to be young and naturally fit again. They all got PR’s (yellow) and many set new EAGLES records!  We did not have any little boys.

All of our MS 3k runners broke 20 minutes even Z!!!  Many of them beat or were very close to my time at 7:45 pace which was great!  Both of these were goals I had for our MS EAGLES, so this was great!  Yellow indicates a season PR, which was absolutely every one, and many of you by over 1 minute! (check Belleville meet to compare)  If you want to check for all time PR you need to go to web site past XC Teams.   Steven earned the last trophy and Love and Sam earned medals for our Bantam races.  Havilah and Kyler earned trophies and Emma and David earned medals for our Midgets!

Our YOUTH teams showed impressive improvements from last year!  Those of you who raced the 4k last year should look at your times and smile!  A little disappointed in the trophy department especially since we were expecting Top 10 trophies, but lots of medals all around for our last group to race the meet.  They are easier to store anyway!   You all PR’d since it was your only 4k of the year.

Hope to see you at Wildcats to try again!

All of these 3k and 4k results look to me like your training is paying off, and you will be ready for a great Championship Meet in 2 weeks!

I am working on updating the team XC Records Sheet; so many new or improved records!!  WOO HOO!    EAGLES  DOM-I-NATE!
