Jilleen Pfarr (Director)

Welcome to The Home School EAGLESHome School XC & Track & Field Competitive Team!

Jilleen PfarrI started running competitively during my freshman year of high school at Milwaukee Pius and continued running at UW-Parkside in Kenosha, WI.  Post collegiate, I trained to qualify for the Olympic trials in the 1500 meters as well as 5k road racing.  I stopped short of my 1500 track & field goal due to an injury.  God used the injury to get the “god” of running out of my mind long enough for me to turn to Him.  Within a year of becoming a Christian I was pain free and began helping my college coach and training 5k again.  It was an enjoyable time of running with the collegiate women’s team.  The desire to live and home school in the country moved our family to Rock County where I trained on my own and raced here and there.  Adding three more children to the first two and tired adrenals have made it impossible to train competitively for several years.  However, I have continued to walk, swim, or run for fitness.  If I can stay healthy I would like to train a bit more serious in hopes to be fit enough for Masters 5k  racing in Wisconsin.  Meanwhile I am enjoying directing and coaching the Eagles Team and developing competitive running programs for the home school communities in the State-line area and beyond.

I am excited for the opportunity that competitive running will bring to all of our home schooled students.  Competitive sports help develop discipline and character. Running in particular is a great metaphor for life’s mental challenges and helps develop physically healthy habits for life too!

In 2018 I will be celebrating 30 years with Steven Pfarr. We have five children all of whom we have or currently home school.  The oldest two are graduated from our home school, with our oldest son married to a formally home schooled student, they have four sons. Our oldest daughter lives at home working full time. Our younger three children are home schooling and having fun making friends and competing on the Eagles teams.

I love Jesus, my home school family, my backyard chickens, gardening, running and racing.

Running is a great metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it.”

“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.”   Jesse Owens
